The Clubs History:

Broadway Bowling Club can date its origins to 1919, when the green was opened. At that time it was a sub-section of Broadway Lawn Tennis Club.

In 1923 a separate Committee was formed to deal with the particular needs of the Bowling Section.   The County minute book of the 1930’s indicates that the Club joined the Association in 1936.

In 1951 the Club finally separated from the tennis section, which then became defunct. Nowadays the tennis courts are no more and the land they occupied is now the Club’s car park.

In 1960 the land on which the Club stands was acquired by the North Cotswold Hunt, who remain the Club’s landlords to this day.

The Club is now busy and successful and participates in the Men’s and Ladies section of the Concorde League, the Vale Triples League.   The Club also play in a wide range of friendly fixtures and have had many successes including top Club and County Competitions.
